She's got wind
Jessica Bratich, girlfriend of fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, battled with the elements at the Allan Border Medal last night, revealing more than she probably intended to.
Created by the same designer that burst into the headlines when Rebecca Twigley walked into the 2004 Brownlow Medal, Ruth Tarvydas, the see-through canary yellow confection left little to the imagination.Who would be brave enough to sport such a number? It was Mitchell Johnson's girlfriend, Jessica Bratich, who was turning heads.
Sha managed to maintain some modesty despite the wind, as she was wearing knickers that matched the flimsy frock.
A Channel 9 commentator slyly commented she "almost had a dress on."
Melbourne fashion designer Jason Grech said the dress just disn't cut it for a formal function.
"Very inappropriate for the red carpet, It would have suited someone on holidays at a resort, or something to be worn at a gentleman's club."
The Vogue.com.au fashionistas set to work on the site's forum analysing the WAG fashion, and pulled no punches.
"Oh my lord Jessica Britach's dress," wrote Alyssa.
"Trashtastic," declared one poster. Another penned concerns about the upcoming "wardrobe malfunctions" Bratich would suffer through the night.
But Bratich innocently denied courting controversy with her brave fashion choice.
"It's a windy night isn't it? I wasn't counting on that, but I just love the dress and the way it draped,'' she said. "I tried to blend it (with the underwear), but I can't get away with much in this dress.''
Michael Clarke and his gal, Lara Bingle, were sophisticated in his 'n' hers Prada, but it was the model's uber-heels that caught the fashionable eye.
"They're Louis Vuitton. They're very comfortable,'' she insisted, before refusing to pose without Clarke. "It's Michael's night, not mine,'' she said.
Her choice of footwear was only matched by Haley Bracken, who said bridging the foot height difference between her and hubby Nathan was the reason for her diamante-studded platforms.
"I'm used to wearing heels this high because Nathan's so tall. I'd need a step-ladder otherwise,'' she said.
As for the posters back at Vogue, they couldn't see any excuse for either pair.
